Our bloggy friend Sally Cronin has discovered that certain places are full of magic, gateways to the Fairy world. She’s lucky enough to live in one of those places and she’s written a book about the fascinating characters who share her Spanish garden, where the statues come alive and reveal themselves to be guardians of a Fairy kingdom.
Sally has recognised that fairies have their issues just like everyone else. In Tales from the Garden you’ll meet the band of Stone Dwarves who like to get high on sneezeweed between gigs, Fizzy the hyperactive rabbit who’s addicted to nectar, and Fluffy the dragon who can’t resist starting small fires. There’s drama, too, as the Fairy King cheats on the Queen with one of her ladies-in-waiting; but when the Winter Fairy threatens to come early and trash their vital winter preparations, they all pull together to protect the kingdom from his icy clutches.
We’re happy to say dogs play an important part in the Kingdom – and Pearl is particularly pleased the Stoned Band’s lead singer is called Pearly Girl!
Illustrated with magical photos of the garden, the statues and some of the more camera-friendly fairies, this unique book will delight adults, children and storyhounds of all ages. Tales from the Garden gets five wags from my tail!

She was – she’s insisting we all call her Pearly Girl. I just hope she doesn’t start singing! 😉

Unfortunately the real Pearly girl drinks too much and is not quite so beautiful! Still she is in therapy.

Our Pearly Girl is a bit of a delinquent as well – she went AWOL today and indulged in a spot of poo rolling. She really needs to clean up her act!
