      • Oh, beautiful! They look somewhat like the whippets I remember. I used to live in Phoenix, and they used to race them there. I am not sure they do anymore, but there was a time when the greyhound people who raced them put all of them into the animal shelters because of some disagreement with the racing group. I don’t know what it involved. It was a long time ago – had to be in the 70’s. I know at that time, we had a friend who had two of the greyhounds, and they were beautiful. They sure did like to fun, and could run down any creature I think. Thank you kindly.

        • They love to run, and to race, but sadly some owners are less than kind, abandoning or even killing them when they’re past their prime (2-4 years old). Luckily there are shelters that specialise in rehabilitating and rehoming racing dogs. Pearl is an ex-racer from Greyhound Rescue Wales. She’s a sponsor dog, which means the charity pays towards her food and vet bills.
