Is anyone else sick and tired of adverts in their inbox slowing down the typing of emails?
This morning I had to wait several minutes just so I could be shown an animation of a pink fireman with a pink hose (surely a deliberate subliminal) spraying pink goop on a stomach full of Exorcist-green puke. While this delightful vision was uploading I couldn’t type a word. This kind of advertising doesn’t induce me to purchase the stuff being shown, it just makes me angry and stressed.
Then again, maybe the idea is to give you indigestion so you’ll buy Gaviscon (other brands of pink goop are available).

I know they’re a necessary evil, I just wish they didn’t have to slow everything else down!

I’m tired of ads everywhere. I especially dislike the pop-up kinds. You start reading something on a website and then are assaulted by a series of pop-ups, some with noisy videos. Argh.

God, don’t get me started on pop-ups! Those noisy ones melt my head 😦

Makes you wonder how these ads can possibly work, if all they do is irritate. If an ad has annoyed me enough, I’ll go out of my way not to buy the product.

I think you can upgrade to ad-free – but it costs!

Pop-ups that get past your blocker, video in the sidebar that plays regardless…and, as you say, within the email application of an account you already pay for.. that, I think, is the one that gets me most…paing over the odds for a broadband package, using ITS email and STILL getting the ruddy ads….

There’s no escape from the little buggers – they’re worse than ants in the summer!

I hate them and as an author, I try to avoid coming across in that spammy, advertising mode. It’s not always easy.

Sometimes it seems we writers are the only ones with the sensitivity not to spew spam all over cyberspace!

The world would certainly be a better place with out them – or at least with fewer of them!

Once again my Yahoo inbox is behaving badly, in spite of me having a new computer. Must be something about March…
